The bookies have this as pretty even, maybe Sligo with the slight edge. I'm not so sure this should be the case. Perhaps it's because Waterford come into this after two tough games against Dundalk making this their 3rd game in a week, as opposed to Sligo's two. However, they performed very well against Dundalk with a 1-0 loss and a 2-2 draw after two late Dundalk goals.

I still think John Sheridan will be good for Waterford and i think we are seeing this as they have just the one loss against the champions since his arrival. Throughout the whole of 2020, Waterford have just three losses which were against Dundalk, Shamrock and Bohemians. These are the three best sides in Ireland.

Waterford will welcome back a couple of players who could well see game time so that will boost their squad in a positive way.

Sligo had a good couple of wins recently against Derry and Shelbourne, but were then brought back down to earth with a 3-0 loss to Cork City. This defeat was really poor as Cork will not be overly competitive this season.

They will also be without two first choice midfielders, Will Seymore and Garry Buckley. Buckley was a big player for Cork during their recent trophy winning years so he will be a big loss.
